RYSE Is Solving Big Problems

(1) No Retrofits

PROBLEM: RYSE was born when founder Trung Pham was in the process of designing his apartment; since he didn’t have the budget for smart shades, he opted for manually operated window shades with beaded chains.

The following summer, when the excessive heat caused him to regret his purchase, he learned that once window shades are installed, they can never be automated – that they must be replaced with brand new motorized shades.

SOLUTION: After Googling for a retrofit solution and discovering none, he had his “Eureka” moment.

Expensive

(2) Motorized Shades Are Expensive

PROBLEM: Motorized shades are expensive; brands like Hunter Douglas, Lutron, QMotion, or Somfy cost upwards of $1,000 per window. Smart tinting glass? Companies like View charge $5,000 per 5×9 window! These solutions are traditionally reserved for AAA commercial buildings or ultra-luxury homes – but what about the rest of us?

SOLUTION: RYSE is the most affordable solution to motorize and automate your window shades, with the RYSE SmartShade retailing for only $149, making it an ultra-affordable luxury!

Wasted Energy

(3) Wasted Energy

PROBLEM: Buildings are responsible for 40% of all energy use, yet 30% of this energy wasted – half of this wasted energy is lost through its windows. This becomes a $35 billion annual problem.

SOLUTION: RYSE has intelligent software powered by A.I to automate window shades in response to weather conditions, sensors, and user preferences – this can lead to upwards of a 20% savings in cooling loads, and 24% reduction in lighting energy, reducing overall GHG emissions in buildings and helping us save our planet.

Product Roadmap: SmartShades Are Just The Beginning

Our vision is to OWN the “Smart Shade” space. We want RYSE to be synonymous with smart shade — just like what Nest is to the thermostat, Ring is to the doorbell, or Dyson is to the vacuum, we want consumers to think of RYSE when they think of smart shades! RYSE will be developing multiple products in the coming years to dominate the smart window covering category.

SmartDrapes 2023

RYSE SmartDrapes will motorize any curtain or drape that runs on a rail or rod. Drapes are most popular in hotels and making a comeback in luxury multi-family apartments.

SmartBlind 2023

RYSE SmartBlinds will tilt and lift Venetian blinds, horizontal blinds, or mini-blinds that have a wand or draw-strings. Blinds are the most common window covering in residential homes.

Cordless 2023

Cordless blinds and shades was the most popular lift control in 2019 where users can lift or pull-down to open-and-close. This control system will experience large growth in off-the-shelf blinds, and the residential space, due to child safety.

Invest in a Greener Future

Invest in a Greener Future

With new laws and regulations – such as the Green New Deal – governments are requiring that all new buildings be net-zero in carbon emissions by 2030. RYSE SmartShades save energy in two ways:

☀️ Solar Heat Gain Management
Automatically lowering shades to block direct sunlight can reduce indoor cooling costs by up to 24%.

💡 Daylight Harvesting
Automatically opening shades during overcast or bright weather can reduce indoor lighting costs by up to 74%.

We Want to DOMINATE The Smart Shades Market

Since we’ve only been selling online, we have not yet tapped into the high-volume sales channels that retail and wholesale present us – a massive 93% of the market we still have the potential to sell through. This leaves us with amazing upside for any potential investor!

💻 Historically, RYSE has been focused on selling into the online / eCommerce channels.

🤝 In 2022, we will begin selling though B2B and wholesale channels to multi-family real estate developers and landlords.

🛍️ In 2023, our focus will be to begin scaling into the TelCo(telecommunication) channel, which includes Smart Home & Security Managed Services like ADT, Alarm.com, Vivint Home, and Comcast Xfinity.

By 2024, we expect to be fully scaled into the retail channels, with partners that may include Home Depot, Best Buy, Costco, and the Apple Store.

Smart Home Exits

The Smart Home industry is expected to grow at an impressive compound annual growth rate of 7.5%, growing from $158 billion in 2018, all the way to $262 billion by 2025. The industry has seen some spectacular exits, with big tech giants acquiring many start-ups resulting in large payouts for investors:

Google acquired Nest, the makers of the Smart Thermostat, for $3.2 billion, earning investors a 22X return on invested capital.

Remember Ring? They got rejected on Shark Tank, and ended up selling to Amazon for $1.2 billion. Ring’s founder then became a guest Shark on the show, with the last laugh!

Assa Abloy is a $260+ billion company who dominates door locks, purchased August, the makers of the Smart Lock to expand into the smart home!

Hear What Our Investors Think About RYSE

Play Jeffrey Potvin

“The big opportunity with RYSE really drives down to the market opportunity. They really understand this space, and that’s going to allow them to win and allow them to attract a really good suitor.”

– Jeffery Potvin, Supporters Fund

Play Louis Dellosa

“What we liked about RYSE is that it was a technology that was designed and built in such a way that it could easily integrate in many different places with little customization.”

– Louis Dellosa, Cogito Capital
